2016 INSTRUCTIONS

 

 

Dear Prospective Member,

Thank you for your interest in joining the New York Society of Women Artists.

Our committee is looking forward to viewing your work. We are having a jurying of artwork for membership on Friday, April 15th. 2016. Please bring the following:

- 3 recent works

- 1 CD of works or 8 x 10 photographs

- 1 page resume

The work should be delivered between 12:30-1:00pm to the loft of Sheila Kriemelman, 148 Greene Street @ Houston St., Soho; push buzzer #6W or scroll down and find the name. KRIEMELMAN or call 212 274 1932 and you will be buzzed in. Take the elevator to the sixth floor. For any other problem on this day, call this number. See below for transportation information.

Image info: Please show 8 to 10 artworks executed in the last 5 years. Sculptors should show more than one view whenever possible. The CD or photo should have the following info: artist name, title, size, date and material of each piece.

Your resume should have your name, address, phone number, Email address, and website, if you have one.

We will provide pedestals or a table for viewing of your work.

Please pick up your work that same day at 2:00 pm.

NYSWA, Sheila Kriemelman, and the jury members cannot be held responsible for any damage or loss to your artwork. We take every reasonable care. Delivery of work implies acceptance of these conditions.

Transportation Info:

By Automobile: When dropping off work, artists can pull right up in front of the bldg. and unload, but must never leave the car unattended as cops will give tickets. Autos with commercial plates and writing on their cars/ vans/ trucks and/or with handicapped stickers can park in front all day.

There is a parking lot on Lafayette and Great Jones that is reasonable and there are always spaces available. It is about an 8 minute walk from there. Garages in SoHo are very expensive. There is one on Mercer between Houston and Prince that is right around the corner (Houston and Greene) but is very expensive.

Public Transportation: Subway: #6 to Bleecker St.; N,R to Prince St.; B,D,F,M to B’way-Lafayette. Bus: #5 Broadway bus to Houston St. or Prince St.
